Here is Leonard Garcia helping assemble the
wooden framework and mounting the foam core panels to the student desk
that serves as the base of this prototype kiosk

As construction proceeded curious people would wander by to see what
all the fuss was about. Here Leonard Garcia is demonstrating the basic
features of the kiosk to visiting RadioJOVE observer Gary Forintos from Hungary.
|
|
Here is a view of the kiosk with all of the hardware installed. On the
desk is the LCD monitor and the EZ Access buttons. Behind the monitor
is the enclosure for the PC board. On the wood shelf above the ddesk
are the speakeres and amplifier in the foreground. The Apple laptop is
behind the amplifier facing towards the back of the kiosk. Visible on
the left side mounted to the foam core just above the shelf is one of
the vibration speakers.

|
The kiosk interior now somewhat rearranged with an upper shelf for the
amplifier. The other vibration speaker is visible on the the right panel.

|
Here is the kiosk with the front panel in place. The graphics still
need to be mounted to the panels and the desk needs to be
painted. This 6 foot 4 inch black box looks pretty intimdating,
doesn't it?
